Website changes

I’m going to be getting my own hosting and the website will eventually be moved there. Dunno when, I guess when I get around to it. There are also some major changes in my life, but I don’t feel like writing about those right now. Guess you’ll just have to wait.

Boring

So, things have been really boring lately. I’ve been missing Rob desperatly, but I’m waiting to visit him until he’s not so busy. I’ve pretty much been farting around on the internet, watching old movies and playing with my dolls. So yeah… nothing very interesting…

Easter and our garden

I’m hoping this Easter weekend will be fun. My sister is visiting from college, which is always fun. Mom said she’s changing around the egg hunt and I’m interested to see what she’s doing. My sister and I are a little old for egg hunts, but it’s something fun to do regardless of age. I’m really looking forward to the candy! I hope I get lots of chocolate bunnies.

Right now our garden is so beautiful! Everything is blooming and there are butterflies and bees everywhere. Every other day I pick new flowers to put in my room. There are so many pansies that I’ve started to press some in a phone book. Don’t know what I’ll use them for, but I’ll find something. I really love plants (and animals!) and always have something growing and living near me.

My chickens are laying two eggs a day! They were supposed to lay green/blue/pink eggs, but instead they’re laying brown eggs. Though I suppose any eggs are better than none. They’re laying so many eggs that my mom isn’t going to be buying store eggs anytime soon. It’s also nice to know our eggs are organic and probably a lot more healthful since we feed our chickens greens and bugs all the time. I really love my chickens, they’re so sweet! They also produce a lot of manure that my dad uses to fertilize our garden.

Honestly, with the war and the economy the way it is, I’m surprised other people haven’t started victory gardens. Almost every dinner we have includes a vegetable that we grew in the garden. We have broccoli, lettuce, many kinds of beans, eggplant, zucchini, okra, tomatoes, chard, many kinds of peppers, and many different types of herbs. Sure it takes time and water to grow these things, but most are grown in pots and use regular soil mixed with our chicken manure. This winter (which is really more like a prolonged fall) we had so much okra my mom was canning it every other day. Of course there are some things we can’t grow here in Florida that we have to buy, but half of our vegetables come from our garden. And they’re organic!

I’m already planning the garden that I’ll have at the new house. I know I’ll have mint and rosemary. My father has propagated some plant cuttings for me, but I can’t remember what they were right now.

Oh, and Twitter + Wordpress = annoying. It was working, now it’s not. I’d like to have a place for small updates that I can feed anywhere. It just. needs. to. work.
