I was really sick yesterday. I woke up and couldn’t talk. My nose wouldn’t stop running. It was not very fun. I suffered all day like that. Then this morning, I woke up, and everything was gone. My throat was still a little sore, but not terribly so.
I went shopping for people at the college bookstore. People should be getting some neato gifts when I come home.
And I’m going to bring one of my kimono to wear at Kelse’s party. I tried it on today. I’m out of practice with my kitsuke.
Guess what? Andrea got me hooked on kimono again. I can’t wait to see what I got from Yamatoku! I bought a “Lucky Box” for $25, with shipping. It’s like a kimono grab bag. It took forever to get it, they kept saying that I didn’t pay. Paypal is good in keeping records of transactions. Right now it’s sitting in my room at home. I really hope there’s a nagajuban (or just a juban) in there. I need to alter the ones I made, but I don’t really know how to.
I’ve almost finished my gothic lolita dress. I just have to figure out where to put the zipper. I can put it in front, like the pattern has it. Or I can have Rob help me alter it to put it in the back. Either way, I can’t finish it until I decide where to put the zipper. Other costumes are in the works. Cutie Honey is Rob’s job. I’ll give suggestions, but he was the one who wanted to make it. There’s also a nurse dress I’m going to make out of white PVC vinyl. I think it’ll look really cute.
Right now, I’m just waiting for class to start. I’m going to find out how I did on my Ethics exam. –Crosses fingers-
I had a lot of fun this weekend! This weekend me and Rob went to his parents’ house. Friday we drove up after my class. It was pretty good until we hit West Palm Beach. The traffic from then on was a nightmare. And on top of that, both of our bladders were full from the 2 hour drive. But, we got there. First we stopped at the shop and hung out for a couple of hours. I studied a little for the exam I have today. Then we went to Rob’s house. His dogs like me. I like them too. I think I like big dogs better than small dogs. But I like cats over both.
Then we ate dinner and watched TV and stuff. The next day mom woke me up by calling on the cell phone. We talked for a little while. It was mom and dad’s 22nd wedding anniversary. Then Rob and I went to eat breakfast and thrift shopping. Then we went and spent a little time with his dad. Then we went to the shop. We hung out and talked. An interesting thing we found out was that if Rob’s parents had stayed married, they would also be celebrating thier 22nd wedding anniversary. Weird right? After that Rob went to help his dad with his car. While they were doing that, I was studying for the exam. Then we went back to Rob’s and looked thru the books his mom was going to get rid of. Then we went to dinner at a sports bar. It was kinda cool. Except for the heavyweight wrestling going on in the TV right next to our table. That was not very conducive to eating. There were wings for an appetizer, but they were too spicy. I ate a few however, I was really hungry. I got ribs and they were really good.
Then Sunday came. We were going to go bike riding. It was really fun! We left Rob’s house early and went on a long drive to get to the place they go riding. Rob’s parents drove the big truck with the bikes in tow. Me and Rob went in his truck because we were going to leave for Orlando right after riding. We went to a park in the middle of nowhere Florida. On the way there we passed a dairy farm and I saw a cow giving birth. The only way you could tell was because there were legs sticking out of the back end of the cow. We got there and set up camp. They brought the bikes out. They were a lot different than the ones Uncle Bob used to have. These were speed bikes, not the ones you pull logs with. They had 3 four-wheelers and one motor-bike. After gassing them up and checking them, Rob took me on a little ride to find a little-girls bush. After getting back, he and his mom started to teach me to ride a four-wheeler. It’s was easier to learn than I thought. The only part I had trouble with was starting it. You have to kick this lever thing and it cranks the motor. I had to kick it a lot when Rob only had to kick it once. After I had learned the basics, we went on a ride out into the park. It was a trail that wound around some woods, a canal, a creek and some open areas. I did pretty good until we got to the canal. I stalled in the middle of the canal! But Rob got me thru it. Then we went thru the woods. I think I stalled again in the woods. Then we came to a creek. The ruts from other riders were really deep going down the bank. All three four-wheelers got stuck in the mud. I let Rob’s family get mine across, I tiptoed across the shallow water. Then we got to the open areas. I got mine up to 3rd and 4th gears. That was really fun! Going so fast! Then we backtracked to the canal. Again I got stuck in the middle of the canal. Except this time there were a ton of people around. That was really bad. Again Rob helped me get out of the canal. We ate lunch when we got back. Then we went on other rides exploring the area. I usually rode tandem with Rob. We rode by a canal and saw cows, cranes and a little gator. I had a lot of fun riding. We then packed up everything and left for home. (sorry if I got the terms about the bikes wrong, I’m a newbie at it)
We needed to get to a city area before dark hit because the route we were taking was very very very rural and empty. We drove for a while, just seeing cows, trees and the occasional house and farm. I saw turkeys! Lots of turkeys. I also saw peacocks at one of the farms. We stopped at Yehaw Junction to use the bathroom at a gas station. I changed my shirt and washed my face. Yehaw Junction was a very small place. Two gas stations and a little hotel. Then we rode forever seeing the same things. Eventually we reached Kissimmee and civilization. We got back to UCF and I took a shower first thing. I did laundry and studied a little. Then I fell asleep as soon as I hit the bed.
It was a fun weekend. Soon I get to go home and see my parents. Yay!
Despite not feeling well today was a pretty good day. I got started on an essay due Thursday, I studied for my algebra and ethics exams, I got my hair straightened by Andrea and me and Rachel talked to Sam about her cleanliness.
I’ll start with the hair because that was the neatest and coolest. Andrea came by the apartment earlier to get some Sailor Moon stuff. Then we started to talk about Rob and getting his hair straightened. She has this really awesome professional straightening iron. I picked up Rob from his class and she grabbed her iron and we proceeded to spend the afternoon straightening his and my hair. We talked about cosplay and anime and stuff while we all sat on the floor. Rob’s hair came out really nice! He looked really really sexy. He liked it a lot too. He was strutting around for the rest of the day, tossing his hair and striking poses. Then she did my hair, it didn’t seem to take as long as Rob’s. My hair apparently is a lot finer than Rob’s. I guess I got dad’s texture of hair and mom’s curls. When I first saw it, I didn’t like it. Straight hair doesn’t really suit my face. I thought I looked old or weird or something. But it kinda grew on me during the rest of the day. I still really like my curly hair though.
Then later this evening, me and Rachel confronted Sam about her cleanliness or lack of. She was really pissy. Lately she’s been acting like we have no right to talk to her. She barely acknowledges us. Anyway, me and Rachel walked into her room and I said “We need to talk about some things. It seems like me and Rachel are doing a lot of the work n keeping the apartment clean.” And then she started ranting about her dishes and that we need to wash them if we use them. I usually do; I only user her big plates when I cook a meal for me and Rob. Then I mentioned the trash and Sam kinda just glared at me and Rachel. So, we left. I don’t know what she did after we left. Me and Rachel have been talking about her online now for about an hour. There have been some mean and funny things said.
Hopefully she’ll take the hint and start to clean up after her mess. This was the polite warning. After this, she gets to deal with a meaner Mallory and Rachel. And possibly the RA if she really doesn’t change. It’s the middle of the semester and she needs to understand that we’re not going to live like this. She can live in trash in her room, but not in the apartment.
Off to sleep now!
