So, I have the new tank set up on the bar between the kitchen and living room. It looks ok. The water is still a little cloudy, so I’ll have to change some soon. In it are the three zebra danios from the 10 gal and three platies and some shrimp. I set the female gambusia free in the lake, they were taking up space and not giving birth. So, I moved the two males that were in my room out next to the others in the mini-pond tank. I got two new female betta to put in the 10 gal. Once they have a few days in clean water with good food they’ll be moved into there. One’s really big and one’s really small. I worry that the big one will have trouble fitting in. She may want to be alpha and there’s already an alpha. I’m also waiting on some plants I bought online for the tanks. I should get them this week sometime.
I finally named the girl bettas. They are: Narkio, Fujiko, Ichigo, Umeko and Gin. There’s one still without a name. She’s pink with a green-ish sheen. Any suggestions?
Classes are going alright at the moment. I’ve started to work on a project for my Production 1 class. You can view it here. It’s a little personal page so that the students can get to know each other and our digital media skills. I want something simple and pretty. I think it’s comming along nicely.
Rob’s going home for the weekend. I’m going to stay here. Save on gas and money. Can you believe how high the cost of gas is?! Anyway, he might be getting a new car. He’s really excited about it. I’m planing on a bit of cleaning and sewing while he’s gone.
Amber wants me to make her a kitty. I’m going to make Faith’s devil-creature first. I’m sort of combineing two patterns to get this. The bunny pattern from grama and a uique head pattern. Wish me luck trying to sew on the head. I hope it doesn’t come out as wobbly as the last bunny I made. I’m going to stich it with red yarn. It’ll look cool.
I’m also going to make a purse out of an old shirt. I need some sort of stiff black fabric to line it with. I’ve been looking for fur to make the bear caplet. I found some I liked at JoAnn but it was $10 a yard. That’s still pretty expensive with a coupon. I’ll make it eventually! I really want it. Especially for winter! It will be so cute!
Well, actually I was a little late to class, the shuttle busses were running slow. Anyway, I get there and everyone is standing otuside of class. There’s all sorts of talk going around the group. The teacher that we were supposed to have has been reassigned to an advising position - thank god. However, the new teacher assigned to the class was late. A girl sitting across from me in the hall called the director and the director said the teacher should have been there by now. Another teacher in a room next to us let us in with his key so that we wouldn’t disturb his class. About 10 minutes later the new teacher’s TA shows up and tells us that Gibson is most likely going to be teaching this class. I guess I’ll stick this class out since it’s a pre-requsit for other classes I want to take. Darnit!
The fish I’m trying to decide on are two differnt types of fish. The gourami is a labaryinth fish, like the betta. The blue ram is a cichlid, but it’s a South American cichlid. They are a bit easier to take care of. They don’t need special water treatments and they won’t eat my plants like African cichlids would. Plus it’s not as aggressive.
My toothbush died. I have to go out and get a new one. They fixed the dryer a little better. Oh, did I not tell ya’ll about the dryer? Well, about a week ago it stopped producing heat. So, they changed the heat coil. Then a few days ago it started smoking. They came over and fixed it. But then everything that came out of it smelled like electrical smoke. I called the office and said they had better fix it or get us a new one. The guy came over and cleaned it up and now it doesn’t smell bad. A few more loads and it will smell like normal. And it wasn’t our fault that it started smoking. The guy pulled like a pound of lint from inside the dryer. This means it has been building up in there since who knows when.
Well, I’ve started school today. I technically started school yesterday with my Production 1 class… The teacher was 30 minutes late to class. I found that unacceptable and left. I don’t know if he ever showed up or not. He didn’t even send an email or TA to tell us what was going on. He had better have a good excuse this Wed. Anyway, classes today were ok. I had Economics fisrt. This looks like it will be a good class. Most of the work is going to be done online, we only meet once a week. The second class I have with Rob, Intro to Music Technology. It looks like that will be an interesting class. We get to work on keyboards! I’m one of two females in that class. The last class is a class with a teacher I don’t like. I left class early because I didn’t have my laptop and was on the verge of falling asleep. I think he’s full of crap and likes to hear himself talk. He’s the teacher who blacklisted Rob in the Visual Language program. Tomorrow I have the Production 1 class again. This teacher has a track record of being late, boring and useless.
I am getting frustrated with the Digital Media teachers. If they were in any other discipline, they would be in serious trouble for the way they teach, the way they act and thier utter uselessness. It’s just pissing me off at the moment.
Amber lives really close to me! Like right across the lawn! It’s cool, cause when I’m bored I can go over there and bother her.
Her apartment is all nice and clean… and girly. She’s having trouble with two of her roomates. They’ve taken over the kitchen and left barely any space for Amber or the other roomate(which Amber gets along with). And one of her roomates has kinda a deformed face. It’s like she has a puffed-out eye or something. It’s kinda creepy and we try not to stare.
I’ve started to set up the 20gal in the kitchen. I should be getting the lights for it tomorrow. I got them online from someone. They paid $50, I paid $18 with shipping! Wee! And they were the exact lights I was looking at at the petstore. When I get the lights, I move the plants in. A day after the plants come the fish. Then more fish and some more fish. I’m trying to get Rob to choose the big fish. It’s between a dwarf blue gourami and a blue ram. Both get the same size and are about the same temperment. The ram is a little bit more aggresive.
All my other fish are doing well. The guy bettas are happy in thier tank. The girl bettas are happy in thier tank. The wild gambusia are doing ok. I kinda broke the female gambusia tank, so they’re living with the males now. They should be ok.
I swear I’ll post more often now that school has started. My life is more interesting now. Lol
