Busy! Halloween!

So, been a busy few days. The French presentation on Friday last week went well. Everyone had their parts memorized for the most part, and it went very smoothly. We should get a good grade. The Comp as Medium midterm was a joke. On a couple of questions I answered with a smart ass remark and then went on to say “but the answer you’re probably looking for is ___.” There was only one question I had no idea what the answer was, but it doesn’t matter. Today I have my presentation in Women in Film. I’m going to be showing Kamikaze Girls. I’m showing it mainly because 1) We haven’t watched anything from an Eastern perspective, 2) It’s one of the Japanese movies I like that isn’t blood and guts horror, and 3) I really like this movie. I couldn’t really find a single clip I wanted to show, all of it is good! Hopefully I’m not the only one with a Eastern movie.

Tomorrow is Halloween! Rob’s almost done with the nurse costume and it’s looking really nice! He top stitched the zipper and it looks pretty professional. He’s putting on the sleeves today. Since the smallest pattern size is a 4 and I’m like a 2, he had to really take it in. He had to completely restructure the boob area because it was sticking out weird. As for decorations, we bought more spider webs and a giant spider. Tomorrow night we’ll stick everything out on the porch and take pictures. Jarrod said we’ll be flooded with little children! I hope not, I want to save some candy for myself. I really want to go trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. If I can get Rob to tag along, maybe I will. I know I’m old for it, but I want free candy dammit! if I’m giving out pounds of candy to all your little kids, I want some back!

I’m going to wear a costume to school tomorrow too. It’s either going to dress up in one of my gothic lolita outfits. I really want to wear my new shoes!

Tests!

So I had a test in French today. I had to go to her office after class to check on my speech for the presentation on Friday, and while I was there she graded my test. I got another A! And what I had for the speech was good too. So, I’m happy about that! Unfortunately I have my midterm in Comp as Medium today. It’s going to be short answer, which I think is a foolish mistake on his part. Mainly because he’ll have to grade over 50 tests with varying answers. I kinda want to answer the questions correctly and then put my own commentary on it. Because seriously, if he puts Second Life on that exam he’s getting an answer like this: “Second Life is a online international community where the user has an avatar in a 3D environment….. It’s mostly porn and shopping. But mostly porn. Ok, it’s just for porn.” I guess I should study for it, but most of it is stuff I learned in the first 2 years I was here. Da dur dur.

Right now I’m on campus until my class at 6. Weeeeee another 3 hours! It’s really not that bad, I just sit in the Student Union and play on my computer. People watching is fun.

We put up more Halloween Decorations last night. We made bloody curtains for the windows in my room and the porch. They came out really well. Outside we put a black light bulb above the door and a red light bulb at the other end of the porch. In my room we have a red light bulb and a strobe. So, when it strobes you can see the hand prints on the curtains really well. So, when we put out all the decorations on Halloween, it should be pretty scary. Yay!

Rollerskates!

So, yesterday I bought roller skates! Originally I had planned to get them at a second hand shop. Unfortunately all they had there were sizes tiny kid feet and clown. The roller blades there were rather expensive even second hand. So we went to Sports Authority and checked out what they had. The roller skates there were just as much as second hand roller blades, so I was faced with learning to roller blade or buying new roller skates. And I got new roller skates! The plan is for me to roller skate while Rob rides his bike in the mornings. We went out this morning so I could get used to skating again, it’s been years. I didn’t fall on my ass! But it was kinda a work out to just go down the street and back, so I’ll prolly have to work up a routine. I want to get rid of those patches of cellulite on my thighs! Be gone!

I also got a new bird feeder. The one my parents gave me was too big for our little tree. I got a smaller one and it’s sitting out there right now. The birds haven’t figured out it’s there yet. I saw an albino tree frog but by the time I got back outside with the camera, it was gone.

Now to work on French homework, Women in Film homework, a few website stuffs and general putting around on the internet.

Oh! And Rob bought a waffle maker. Last night we had dessert waffles - chocolate chips and whipped cream! Rob had wanted fresh strawberries but the ones at Wal-mart were really nasty, almost all of them were half rotted. But now we know how many waffles the recipe makes and we can have waffles anytime!

I’m sure by the end of this post you’re sick of the words waffles and roller skates.
