Jobs

So, Rob started his new job last night! He works from essentially 6PM to 6AM. He got home early, at 5AM, last night. I really hope he enjoys, or rather, doesn’t hate this job. He’s a night person, so I really hope this works out. On the other hand, I’m still looking for a job. I’ve started to apply to a multitude of places online to see if anything comes up. Another big hope that I can get a job soon.

But since I don’t currently have a job, I’ve been making a lot of things for MetroCon. I plan to make at least one thing per day that I don’t have a job. That way, in the next few months I will have made quite a lot of stuff. I plan to take pictures of the beaded crowns tomorrow if the light is good.

Oh, and I bought something on Amazon but the seller is a asshat. I ordered it on the 14 of Jan, it was supposed to ship out the 22nd, but last night I received an email saying it wouldn’t ship for another 10 to 15 business days. Over a month to receive an item. If they didn’t have the damn thing in stock, they shouldn’t have listed it! So I told them to cancel and refund it. Now I have to buy it on eBay or someplace and hope it gets here in time.

This is kinda random, since I’d like to be sleeping right now but can’t. My mind is too busy. And I’ve run out of reading materials. I’m left reading Erich’s Time magazines and those are mostly filled with election crap.

Oh, and the previous post was protected so that my sister’s boyfriend, should he find this site, would not see the dress. I think she wants it to be a surprise for him.

Hello again

So, I haven’t posted anything recently. This is mainly due to the fact that I no longer have a job where I sit at the computer all day, and that I no longer have classes where I need to be on the computer to stay awake. So, lately I’ve been occupying myself offline. Let’s see what I’ve been up to:

  • Went to Leu Gardens with Rob. It was so beautiful! The weather was perfect, overcast and cool. The rose garden was amazing, it smelled and looked delicious. We plan on going there sometime soon for a photoshoot.
  • Both Rob and I have been playing FF12. Way too much sometimes. I grind the characters (ie: running around and leveling them up) and he fights bosses and progresses the storyline. It’s really cool to have a game we can both play.
  • I’ve made a website for our Artist Alley booth at MetroCon. It’s really simple and has sample pictures of our work. It also has frames, so beware. Still a bit of a work in progress.
  • I’ve done a lot of work for the Artist Alley booth. Made new things, experimented, decided what works and what doesn’t. Some things turned out really cute - like the plushy strawberries. I think that’s going to be a “theme” of our work at the booth, strawberries. :berry:
  • Rob and I have started a workout and healthy eating program that his mom gave him for Christmas. So far it’s working out nicely. The workout is on a DVD and moves so damn fast that I’m doing most of the exercises at half time.
  • I’ve applied to Jo Ann again, and am going in tomorrow to talk to the Operations Manager about hiring me back. I went in yesterday and my Receiving Manager was excited that I was going to come back. I still plan on looking for a web design job, but need some sort of income for the time being.
  • I got my business cards and they look AWESOME! The image came out with even more depth than my printer could print. I really like them. I’ve handed them out to just about everyone.

Guess that’s all for now.
