It’s going to be a busy week this week! Tomorrow Rob, Sasha and I are going to Islands of Adventure. She gave me free tickets for my graduation present but Rob and I haven’t really had time, or remembered that we had the tickets, since then. Sasha’s on spring break so she said she would go with us. Yay! I get to spend time with one of the very few female friends I have.
On Wednesday I’m going over to my grandparents to help my grandpa with some computer issue. I think it’s the same one he’s had before where he needs to turn off his web accelerator to download certain updates. I could prolly just email or call him to see if this is the issue, but it’s so much easier to go there and see for myself. I also get a free lunch.
On Thursday we may go clubbing. I have no idea where, but Sasha will be going with us. I kinda wish that she’d come over and help me pick out something to wear. I’m not so good at putting together a fashionable ensemble.
Then on Friday I’ll be heading home to St. Pete to visit my family and pick up the lace we ordered online. Mom says she wants to talk about something about a business, but I don’t know if I really want to turn EelpoutArt into a business. I’ll just have to see what she says. I’m also looking forward to seeing Kelsey. She’s be having a hard time with her boyfriend lately and I want to be there to support and help her however I can. She says things are getting better and I hope so.
Yesterday I made some deviled eggs from the eggs I dyed with my grandparents. They came out ok and they taste ok too. They were just really annoying and hard to shell. Maybe I’m just impatient.
Right now I’m watching a show called Bone Detectives and it’s kinda annoying. This guy goes around the world, looking at “unusual” burials, and trying to figure out what happened to the subject. It just seems like he’s sensationalizing everything. Each subject is given a name, even though the burial site has no indication of a name. There are also reenactments and they’re usually something exciting like war or murder, rather than something mundane like the subject fell off a ladder or a horse. He goes around the area talking with archaeologists about weapons or technology from that time period. More than once I’ve seen the other archaeologists giving him that look that says “You’re an idiot.” I agree completely.
I’m going to go to Panera tomorrow to put in an application. Every place I’ve gone to says they’re not hiring. It sucks.
After MetroCon I’m planning on turning EelpoutArt into a sort of business, depending on what sells and how much inventory we have left. I’ve done some selling online before and it can be a little daunting at times. Especially when calculating shipping. Especially when calculating international shipping. I mailed something to Austria once and it was incredibly expensive. Anyway, it’s really annoying when you have to guess at the shipping costs. It’s either guesstimate or drive all the way to the post office and wait, wasting their time and yours. And if you calculate incorrectly you have to eat the extra cost. That’s not fun at all.
So, I was looking at little label makers that can do all that for me. I think that the Desktop Mailing Solution would be best because it has a little digital scale that comes with it to make calculating the postage so much easier. I won’t have to guess the weight of my items with that nifty gadget! Or I could get the Dymo LabelWriter 400 Turbo for printing out online stamps. That would be perfect for envelops or items that don’t weigh very much (such as my little phone charms). Both of those products do regular printing too, for cool things like stickers, name tags, or addresses. I won’t have to worry about my sloppy handwriting or that the item won’t get there because I spelled something wrong. Both of those printers would save on time and money, you should really check them out. They’re in the Office Solutions section. There are other products too, like regular label makers for around the home, that would be nice to have.
