Pets
Not-Midge
We originally couldn’t figure out a name for this chicken. My mother named her Midge, but my sister didn’t like that name. Then later we found out she was a he. So, now his name is Not-Midge.
Rexy
Rexy is a dwarf. She was chick sized for the longest time! We were afraid that she wasn’t healthy. Then suddenly she was a grown chicken! We named her Rexy because she hunts bugs like a T-Rex.
Peggy
Peggy is missing a few toes, so she was named Peggy. As in a peg leg. She lays eggs about the size of golf balls.
Arugula
Arugula is a Polish and Frizzle mix. This means she will be a cute puffball of feathers when she matures. She is the largest of the chickens and the most picked on. A very sweet bird.
Coal
This is my cat Coal. Not Cole, but Coal as in charcoal since he’s a graphite grey. I got him from the Humane Society, so he has a little S tattooed in his ear. He is a scardy cat! He’ll run away from you and hide in my room. But if you’re in my room and you’re relaxed, he’ll come and cuddle and purr and love you to death. I love him very much. I also call him eCoali.
5 Gal Aquarium
I have a little five gallon tank in my room. Kaidra the betta fish and Dr. Zoidberg the albino cory cat live there. I used to have another betta fish that lived in there named Ben Hur, but he died. Note: There was a divider between them, do not put two male bettas together without a divider.
20 Gal Aquarium
This is my 20 gallon long tank that lives in my living room. It is populated by many platties, 2 otto cats, 3 danios, and one glo-lite tetra. All the plants in the picture are real plants. Have you ever had a tank go crazy with algae? The easiest way to deal with that is to put live plants in there. Current plant species are: Anubias barteri ‘Nana’, Cryptocoryne wendtii, Ludwigia repens, Java fern, Miniature Amazon Sword, Najas Grass, Anacharis, Rotala indica and Water Wisteria. And Japanese Marimo algae balls are cool, but they’ll really mess up your tank. If you get one, keep it in a jar by your window. The green rock (if you can see it) is my boyfriend’s pet in the aquarium. He wanted something so he wouldn’t feel bad if it died.
