So, the end of the year is near! Next week is Thanksgiving. Then the next weekend I’m visiting my grandparents. After that it’s exams! I know my French exam is on Friday, but the other ones I’m not sure of at this point. Then, some time in December I’ll be going home for Christmas. After Christmas I’ll be coming back to Orlando for New Years! After that… I guess I start Real Life and finding a Real Job. Scary! I wonder what my New Years resolution will be next year. This years was to spend less money, and I think I sort of accomplished it.
This morning I used the heart ice cube tray to make some sugar cubes. I took the recipe down to 1/4th of the original, so I hope they turn out ok! It’ll be sweet to have pink heart shaped sugar cubes for my hot tea this winter. Get it? Sweet? Har har
I’ve been making some crafty things for the Metro artist booth. Mainly hair clips, felt broaches and bloomers. Me and mom will talk about it over Thanksgiving. I plan on doing a lot more this time, getting started early and all that.
What I think we’ll do:
- Headdresses
- Hair clips
- Bloomers
- Aprons
- Bloody hospital masks
- Bloody/cute eyepatches
- Pretty masks (like 5)
- Possibly: small purses, bonnets, animals
I’m bored at work right now.
I know mom might roll her eyes when she reads this, but I kinda want to do another artist alley booth at MetroCon. This time we’ll limit our selection to what worked last time. I really want to remove the bought stuff too, more handmade things. And I think we still have a few left overs too. Rob said he’d chip in with the sewing.
It’s just that last year at Metro there wasn’t much to do. Me, my sister and her friend just sort of sat around. Rob was working chess match too last year, so I hardly saw him at all. And this year he’s being wishy washy on if he’ll do it again. I strongly really don’t want him to do it ever again. Of course, it’s his decision to make. Mom wouldn’t have to come and work the booth unless she wanted to. I can do it with Kelse and Rob if he’s available. It’s completely up in the air right now and we won’t have to buy the booth for another few months. And I have those VIP tickets that I won last year, so we don’t even have to buy tickets.
I’m sort of compling ideas of what I want right now. Like I said, it’s not certain right now. And if we make stuff and decide not to get a table, I can always sell things online.
Is the creepiest thing ever. For the past two nights, there have been storms a ways away from the house. So there are these creepy flashes of light, but no sound because it’s too far away, or maybe an electrical storm. And Rob’s been away these nights, so it’s even more creepy being alone, in the dark with silent flashes of light outside. Kinda like the beginning of an alien invasion or something.
Metro was this past weekend. I’m afraid I’m getting to old for these conventions. Cause ya know, I don’t much like the 13 year-old Narutards running and screaming around. Literally running and screaming. And the dealer’s room was pretty lame. I only bought 2 things. A little gothic lolita Hello Kitty keychain and a Asuka figure for Rob. That really made it annoying since I had saved from other cons this year to splurge at Metro.
But the high point was that I won the Hunt for the Metro Gears! I totally didn’t think I’d win, cause I was just doing it to kill time when there was nothing else to do. Found 3 on Fri, 4 on Sat and 4 on Sun. I like ran down the up escalator cause I saw one in a plant. Kelse said I looked really scary and intense. I have to decide if I want to keep the tickets or give them to Kelse and Micheal, or if Rob wants one. And this year I actually saw a chess match for the first time. The one with Rob as Al doesn’t count cause I had to be backstage to velcro him back together. The fight, or rather, massacre, between Cervantes and Sailor Moon was awesome. That girl was great with her falls and rolls. But just about everything with Cervantes was awesome. I’ll be posting my pictures later.
Actually doing work at work now. Kind of a nice change of pace. At the house we have a fridge now. Cable and internet will be installed Thurs and Fri respectively. And then Fri and Sat we’ll be moving my furniture from St. Pete to the house. And hopefully today I can get all the leftover crap out of my apartment. Here’s hoping it all fits in my truck. I don’t think it will, but I can hope right? Soon we’ll be getting a lawn mower too. Erich says we can prolly borrow his mother’s weed-whacker since it isn’t needed as much as the lawn mower. The sprinklers work, but they came on an hour late. But that’s not much of a difference, 6am and 7am. I can’t wait to be free of PL and live in the new house full time!
