Hey, I’m back!

So, the new year has started. I spent the holidays with my family at home in St. Pete and in West Palm with Rob’s family. I was finally able to take Rob to Sunken Gardens, one of my most favorite places in Florida. I got a lot of stuff I wanted, and am really thankful to everyone. I’m in the process of sending off thank you cards to relatives. I got Rob some new fancy lights for his photography. It was nice to spend time with Rob’s parents.

Right now I’m starting to get things in gear for the new year. I’m finalizing my business card design and should have it sent off to a printing company in a day or two. I’m going to make a new layout for my portfolio and re-vamp my resume (yet again). I’m going to start searching for jobs in the next few days. Wish me luck!

I’m sort of doing stuff around the house right now, I have a whole long page of chores. So, I don’t know how much I’ll be online. I’ll try to go through the stuff for the QBee that’s accumulated over Christmas.

Here’s some pictures from testing out Rob’s new lights.

Oh, and it’s 28 F tonight. The coldest it’s been all winter. It’s going to be back up to 70 this weekend. It’d be nice if the weather could just be like 50, rather than going between FREEZING and SUMMER every other week.

Holidays and Rob

Rob’s parents divorced when he was really young. Because of this, he says they really downplayed holiday celebrations so there wouldn’t be any fighting over who spent what holiday with him. So, I’ve been the one to introduce him to many of my family’s holiday traditions. He carved his first Halloween pumpkin with me. I had to scoop out the seeds because they grossed him out. The other day he helped me put up cobwebs on the front porch. He had no idea how to do them, so I had to explain it. Despite not knowing some things he really likes to celebrate Halloween. He went out and bought a strobe light and some bloody hand prints for the front window. He’s a little worried that our decorations may be a bit scary for the little children that will come trick or treating. I kinda want our house to be the scariest on the block. I’m hoping to get at least one of the skeletons from home. And maybe a red flood light and the skeletal hand. I’d like to throw around some blood, but I’m afraid it would stain the paint, and I don’t want to have to re-paint the porch.

I’ve cut out the fabric for the nurses costume and got a zipper. All that’s left is to sew it together! Something for me to do Monday since I don’t have French class.

Right now I’m doing mindless data entry for work. Weee!

Halloween is almost here!

Halloween has to be my favorite holiday. I love candy and dressing in costumes, so what can be better than a holiday that celebrates both of those! I can’t decide what I want to dress up as. I could do kimono, but that can get uncomfortable. There’s my gothic lolita, but normal people don’t quite understand that. Rob says one of the outfits looks like a beer wench, so maybe I can wear that. I could always go as a gothic princess vampire or something. Sometimes I want to just buy a costume, because my cosplay stuff is a bit too eclectic and hard to explain to regular people. There are a lot of sexy Halloween costumes out there too. That would be kinda fun to wear to a Halloween party. This vampiress costume is rather nice. I like how it’s shredded but still looks pretty. I could do some bloody makeup and look really creepy. I also like this little devil number. Not too revealing but still sexy. Looks like it’s velvet too. I have a lot of nice jewelry that would go well with both of those costumes. I have no idea what Rob will wear for Halloween. He may just dress up in some 70’s bellbottoms and a cape and run around as Capitan Yesterday from Futurama. The only problem with buying a costume is that all the Geisha costumes suck and it pains me to see them being worn. But then it’s about impossible to do a good semi-authentic Geisha costume for under $500.

PS: There’s a hidden section where you can get a nice disount on this website. Go to the homepage about halfway down and click on the comma in the line that reads “Our Store now has over 14,000 masquerade items for you to choose from!”

Soon we’re going to make a trip out to OBT to look for wigs. I really want a nice long straight black wig that I can cut in a hime cut reminiscent of Jigoku Shoujo. Or maybe a bubblegum pink wig to replace the one I’ve had forever that’s falling apart. Ken’s asked me to make some bloody masks for his Halloween party. I should be able to make those rather quickly, he just has to tell me how many. I’m not going to be able to go to that party because that’s Mallory Weekend and I’ll be at home in St. Pete. :???: I’ll be here for Halloween though! And Halloween falls on a school day, so maybe I’ll wear something to classes. Has to be comfortable though, I’ll be on campus from 11am to 9pm. After Halloween is Kelsey’s birthday! Yay! This is going to be a really fun month.

I got an A on my last French test! I’m so happy! Midterm is on the 10th, not looking forward to that. At least I’ve accumulated some good grades for when the class gets a lot harder later in the semester.
