Rob’s new website design is up and running. There are a few tweaks I still need to do, but for the most part it’s finished. I think I’m happy with it. Rob seems happy with it but he keeps coming to me with more ideas he wants to implement. :dead:
Last night we had a party for Eddie’s late birthday and Ken’s birthday. It was pretty fun. It’s nice when people you like come over to party. The party ended around 3 AM, and Ken and Cristine spent the night. One bad thing that happened was that the loveseat finally died. Rob’s trying to fix it right now, but I think it’s broken beyond repair. The seat support beam was made out of plywood and it’s splintered.
Rob bought me Paprika the other day. It’s directed by the same guy who did Perfect Blue, Paranoia Agent, Millennium Actress and Tokyo Godfathers. So, it’s a mixture of “What the fuck is going on!?!?” and “Wow, that’s really beautiful and great plot!” It’s a little easier to follow than Perfect Blue, but with that same weirdness from Paranoia Agent. It is a lot like The Cell, in that it involves dream therapy and the dream world. This is a really top notch anime movie, but what else can you expect from Satoshi Kon?
So, hey I’m back! Over two days of downtime thanks to the server I’m on being crap. The hosting is in Rob’s name, so he talked to the hosting company and we’re getting moved to a new, more stable server and getting an extra month added to our contract. Hooray! Now let’s hope I don’t loose more data in this server transfer.
Megacon was a lot of fun. I spent it mostly walking around the dealers room annoyed that there was nothing I wanted to buy. I bought a wallscroll, a poster, a plushie for Rob, a boxset of a series and a phone charm. And the two most expensive of those things were on sale! I walked around in gothic lolita all weekend and was pretty happy to be wearing it. On Saturday I met up with some other gothic lolita girls and we ate dinner at a nice Chinese restaurant. I really hope I fit in and they liked me, I was sort of the odd one out. All the other girls had friends there with them. I didn’t really get any pictures because there wasn’t much I wanted a picture of. The next convention is MetroCon! We’ll prolly go to Jacon or AFO, but we’re not paying for tickets.
Right now I’m trying to get the house cleaned up from after the convention. And I have to wake up Rob soon to mow the lawn.
So, I figured out that it wasn’t Wordpress that lost all those entries. It was my hosting company! They were moving some servers and I lost some data from that. Pretty much anything from November till now was gone. That included Eelpoutart. I had to re-upload everything for that website. I’m now wondering if that lost data will magically re-appear and everything I’ve done in the past few days will be gone. Ugh!
I’m re-designing Rob’s website. Giving it a snappier cleaner look. Or rather, the old layout was making me gag and I just had to redo it. There will also be a gallery system, which Rob is excited about. It’s pretty much taking the default gallery output of Adobe Lightroom and hacking it all to bits, creating something much cleaner in the end. I mean really, they put a link around a div. I’m almost done with everything. I just need Rob to give the final OK for launch.
MegaCon is coming up this next weekend! I have to decide what to wear. One of my costumes isn’t going to work out. I bought a jumpsuit in a small, and when I got it, it was bigger than Rob. So what, an XL could be used as a slip cover for the sofa? So, we have a lot of reconstruction to do on it before it’s wearable. I’m hoping Sasha will finish my Hell Girl costume for the convention, but if not, it’s ok. It looks like I’ll be wearing gothic lolita the entire weekend. I finally have a versatile enough wardrobe that I can create a few outfits out of a few pieces. That doesn’t make it any easier to decide what to wear though. I have to wash some of it too.
And my dad may be visiting sometime in the next week. Gotta clean up some of the stuff around here!
